Background
I have always wanted to be a teacher, since I was a kid but I never thought that I would be an English teacher. I started studying English when I was 9 years old, but I didn´t like it at all. I used to attend classes on Saturdays…while all my friends were having fun, I had to go to classes…
When I was 18, my younger brother decided to be an exchange student in the United States. As my parents let him go, I decided to go with him. We did not stay in the same state, I lived in California and he lived in Florida. It was a great experience… I could say that it was the best experience of my life!
When I came back, I started teaching English in companies and I have been doing that for the past 17 years. I have taught all kinds of people, I have learnt a lot with my students and have made great friends, friends for life!!
My youngest brother, Raphael, decided to teach English as well, so he followed the same path. He was an exchange student in the United States as well, and when he came back, he started teaching English and actually he became a great teacher. After some years we had so many students and more and more people kept asking us for classes. That´s when Raphael decided to start Mindset, to please everyone that would ask for classes. He would start training other teachers to use the same methodology that we have been using and that students like so much. And it worked!!! Now Mindset is a great Institute, with a lot of students and great teachers! Mindset has a great atmosphere, everyone who works here feels the same way! I am in charge of our Educational Department. In my opinion, it is the most challenging dept here, but it is also the most rewarding one…Here is where we receive e-mails from students thanking us for achieving some of their goals due to their English learning.
